The Travel Agent Association of India (TAAI)-JK Chapter recently conducted its fourth bimonthly meeting at Hotel Robusta Retreat-The Lakeside Villa in Srinagar, attended by special invitees Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary of Tourism, and Bahram P. Zadeh, Managing Committee Member and Chairman of Membership Council, Travel Agent Association of India.
During the meeting, Shah highlighted the significance of TAAI as one of the oldest and premier travel and tourism associations in the country. He expressed the Department of Tourism’s commitment to promoting new destinations in Kashmir and emphasized the significant role that local travel agents play in driving the growth of these destinations.
Zadeh, on the other hand, highlighted the importance of responsible tourism in the Union Territory. He urged the government and stakeholders to take necessary steps to enhance the carrying capacity of various destinations in Kashmir, ensuring the long-term sustainability of Kashmir Tourism.
The meeting aimed to promote responsible tourism practices that would benefit local communities and preserve the natural beauty of the region for generations to come. The attendees, including prominent travel and tourism players from the UT, expressed their appreciation for the government’s initiative to collaborate with the travel and tourism industry at a local level, allowing them to address challenges effectively and work towards the growth and prosperity of Kashmir tourism.
