Flynas, the Saudi-designated Nigerian hajj air carrier, has assured the public that all Nigerian pilgrims will be airlifted before the deadline. To date, Flynas has transported over 18,000 intending pilgrims, representing about 63% of the 29,296 pilgrims allocated to the airline. Flynas has been allocated pilgrims from various Nigerian states, including Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Niger, Borno, Yobe, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara. The Managing Director of the General Sales Agent (GSA) of Flynas in Nigeria, Alhaji Umar Kaila, stated that the airline had positioned six aircraft for the 2023 hajj operation but has only deployed five so far.
According to Kaila, Flynas airlifted more than half of its allocated pilgrims on schedule”. He added that This is apart from the rescue operations we conducted for some states like Nasarawa, among others. The air carrier operates from three Nigerian airports: Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, Sultan Abubakar International Airport in Sokoto, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Nigerians are hopeful that Flynas will complete their hajj operation successfully within the stipulated deadline.
