Indore police are taking steps to improve the health and fitness of their officers with a new initiative called ‘Atma Samvardhan and Kshamta Vikas’. The initiative involves a fitness parade held every Tuesday and Friday at DRP Lines, where officers engage in physical exercises, yoga, meditation, and pranayama to promote overall well-being.
The parade includes a two-step process. First, blood samples are taken on Tuesdays for examination, and based on the test reports, the officers are given information about their health status before the subsequent parade on Fridays. Doctors from the Central Lab are on hand to collect the blood samples and guide the cops about healthy eating habits, lifestyle choices, exercise routines, stress management, and anger management to maintain optimal health.
If serious health issues are detected, the officers’ family members will be notified on Sundays and necessary treatment arrangements will be made. Regular counselling sessions are also provided with the assistance of counsellors to support the officers’ well-being.
Moreover, the police have committed to facilitating low-cost and concessional treatment for officers suffering from any disease, and providing assistance to aid their recovery. This initiative is a positive step towards improving the health and well-being of the police force, as it recognizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to perform duties efficiently.
Under the guidance of commissioner of police, Makrand Deouskar, this initiative is a welcome addition to the department, promoting not only physical fitness but also mental and emotional wellness. The police department is providing the necessary resources to ensure the officers remain healthy and fit, spotlighting their commitment to the well-being of their workforce.
In conclusion, the Indore police are taking great strides to improve the health and fitness of their officers through their new initiative. With regular fitness parades, regular counselling sessions, and access to treatment at low cost, they are providing the necessary resources to ensure their officers remain healthy, physically and mentally. This initiative is a testament to their commitment to the well-being of their workforce, and it is a successful model for other police departments to emulate.
