A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a hostel room in Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, according to a fire department official. The Director of Delhi Fire Service, Atul Garg, reported the incident stating that the emergency call came in at around 6:09 a.m. The fire started in room number 89 on the first floor of the old boys’ hostel at the college. It quickly spread to furniture, clothing, and an air-conditioning unit in the room.
The fire department dispatched seven fire tenders to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Luckily, no casualties were reported.
The incident was handled promptly by the fire department and did not cause any major damage.
Fires can be particularly dangerous in high-density living quarters like hostels, especially when they occur at night. It is crucial that individuals, particularly students living in hostels, take fire and safety regulations seriously to prevent such incidents.
While the cause of the fire has not been reported yet, the fire department is conducting an investigation to determine what occurred.
Safety is always a top priority, and the responsibility lies with everyone, from building owners to residents, to ensure that safety regulations are set in place and properly followed. Proper safety measures and prompt action during emergencies will help prevent incidents like this from happening again in the future.
