The theory suggested that Swift was the author of the novel Argylle, on which the film is based. Vaughn clarified that the book was written by Elly Conway, not Swift, despite fans drawing connections between the singer and the story. While Swift’s influence can be found in the film through Vaughn’s use of his cat Chip, the director firmly asserted that Swift did not write the book. Argylle, featuring a star-studded cast including Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa, is set to hit UK cinemas in February.
