Filipino Foreign Secretary Enrique A Manalo will visit India from June 29, 2021, for a four-day trip aimed at boosting cooperation between the two nations. The agenda includes discussions on maritime security, trade and investment, health, and tourism.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar, and Manalo to review the bilateral relations between the two countries comprehensively. The fifth meeting of India-Philippines joint commission on bilateral cooperation (JCBC) will be held on June 29, and both the ministers will co-chair the meeting. Apart from that, Manalo will also meet other government officials to enhance engagement between the two countries.

India and the Philippines share a history of friendly relations, and this visit by the foreign secretary is expected to further bolster the relationship. India is keen to cooperate with the Philippines to ensure regional security and stability.
