Ferne McCann, known for her appearances on The Only Way Is Essex, recently caused a stir by claiming that breast milk is like liquid gold and even considered making ice cream with it. The reality star made these comments during an interview on Steph’s Packed Lunch, where she discussed her life as a new mom to her second child.
Host Steph McGovern asked Ferne for an update on her experience as a new mom, to which Ferne replied that her daughter, Finty, was doing well. In the midst of the live TV conversation, Ferne mentioned that she might need to feed her baby. This prompted Steph to ask Ferne if she had ever tried her own breast milk. Ferne enthusiastically responded, Of course I have! I’m just curious. It’s like Liquid Gold.
Ferne then continued to discuss her ideas about breast milk, including the possibility of turning it into ice cream. She also wondered if it could be frothed up for a special touch in her fiancé Lorri’s morning coffee. Ferne went on to highlight the supposed benefits of breast milk, which she claimed include using it as a remedy for various ailments, such as weeping eye or blisters.
Steph jumped in to clarify that they don’t actually know if these remedies work, to which Ferne agreed. Ferne further described the taste of her breast milk as sweet and not gone off. However, Steph humorously responded, You’re not selling it!
Interestingly, Ferne revealed that her fiancé, Lorri, has no intention of trying her breast milk, despite the fact that it is feeding their baby and she loves it. This sparked some confusion for Ferne, who couldn’t understand his hesitation.
Ferne, who shares a five-year-old daughter named Sunday with her ex-partner, Arthur Collins, also mentioned that she met Lorri on Instagram. She didn’t elaborate on this point, but it seems to hint at her current relationship status.
While it’s not uncommon for women to taste their own breast milk out of curiosity, Ferne’s openness about it and her consideration of using it in unconventional ways has caused a buzz. It remains to be seen whether anyone will take her lead and try breast milk ice cream.
