Female Frogs Use Tonic Immobility to Escape Aggressive Males, Study Finds
Female frogs have developed a unique survival tactic to evade the advances of aggressive males during mating season: they play dead. A recent study published in the journal Royal Society Open Science sheds light on this behavior, known as tonic immobility, which has been observed in the European common female frog.
