A member of the dissolved All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Jesutega Onokpasa, has criticized the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, over the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. Onokpasa squarely blamed Wike for the conflict and called on him to resolve his issues with his godson, Siminalayi Fubara, who holds the position of Governor in the state.

The APC chieftain expressed disappointment that Wike has continued to engage in political battles despite being summoned by President Bola Tinubu to restore peace in Rivers State. Onokpasa, during an interview with Arise TV, emphasized that members of the APC are growing weary of Wike’s tactics and advised him to put an end to these actions and focus on his job as the FCT Minister.

Taking a dig at the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to which Wike belongs, Onokpasa commented that unlike the PDP with several leaders, the APC is united under the leadership of Tinubu. According to the chieftain, the party members are loyal to Tinubu, who is in charge. Onokpasa urged Wike to respect the party that provided him with a position and to leave Fubara alone so he can concentrate on governing Rivers State.

The political crisis in Rivers State has escalated tensions within the APC and PDP. Many are looking to Wike for a resolution, but his confrontational approach has drawn criticism from within his own party and now from the APC camp.

It remains to be seen how Wike will respond to these comments from a member of the dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council. As the crisis unfolds, political observers and citizens alike anticipate a swift resolution to allow for the effective governance of Rivers State.

In the midst of this escalating conflict, it is important for all parties involved to prioritize the interests and needs of the people of Rivers State. It is imperative that political leaders put aside personal disputes and work towards the development and progress of the state. Only through dialogue, collaboration, and a focus on delivering effective governance can the crisis be resolved and the well-being of the people ensured.
