Father of Boy Killed in Tragic Accident Previously Jailed for Toddler’s Death in Car Chase

A devastating accident in Sydney’s south-west has claimed the lives of two teenagers, and it has now emerged that the father of one of the boys was previously involved in a car chase that resulted in the death of a toddler. Kaine Bell, 14, and Brayden Collier, 13, tragically lost their lives after the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree and a telegraph pole in Ashcroft. The driver, Nicholas Thew, 27, and his passenger, Anthony Morris, 23, allegedly fled the scene, leaving the boys’ bodies behind.

In a disturbing coincidence, it has come to light that Kaine’s father, Kaine John Alexander Bell, had previously been incarcerated for armed robberies that led to a police chase and the death of a 19-month-old toddler named Skye Sassine on New Year’s Eve in 2009. Bell, who confessed to committing the robberies due to his addiction to ice and debts to bikies, served two years and three months in jail for his crimes. His accomplice, William Ngati, received a 19-year sentence for manslaughter.

The recent tragedy involving Kaine Bell and Brayden Collier has left the community reeling, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover funeral expenses. The campaign describes Kaine as a happy and adventurous boy who adored riding his bike and fishing with his father. The devastating loss of these young lives has undoubtedly left an immense void in their families’ hearts.

Video footage captured the aftermath of the crash, showing the driver and his passenger fleeing the scene while the bodies of the boys lay nearby. The heartbreaking images depict a moment of utter despair as the driver briefly placed his hands on his head before running away. The driver’s family revealed that he and his passenger were considered big brothers to the boys and expressed their devastation at the tragic turn of events.

At present, no charges have been laid in connection with the accident. Authorities are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the community awaits further developments.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless behavior on the road. As the friends and families of the victims mourn their loss, there is a renewed call for greater awareness and responsible driving to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
