Father-Daughter Duo Rescued by Picnickers as Car Plunges into Waterfall
A heart-stopping incident unfolded on Sunday evening in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district when a father and his daughter found themselves in a perilous situation. Thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of a group of picnickers, both their lives were ultimately saved.
The incident occurred near the Lodhiya Kund waterfall under the jurisdiction of the Simrol police station. The young girl was trapped inside their vehicle as it hurtled down towards the waterfall, while her father desperately tried to open the car’s door. The terrifying scene was captured on video and later went viral on social media platforms.
Fortunately, Sumit Mathew, who happened to be on a picnic in the area with his friends, sprang into action when he heard the commotion. Displaying great courage and selflessness, Mathew jumped into the water to rescue the distressed father, while others at the scene managed to pull out the trapped girl from the vehicle.
Speaking about the incident, Mathew said, I went to Lodhiya Kund waterfall with my four friends on Sunday evening. When we were returning, we heard people shouting there. I saw a car rolling down towards the waterfall and a man was trying to open the car’s gate as a girl was stuck in the car. The car and the man both fell into the waterfall.
Realizing that the man needed immediate help, Mathew courageously jumped into the water and successfully saved him. However, the young girl remained trapped inside the vehicle. Fortunately, other concerned individuals on the opposite side of the waterfall acted swiftly and managed to rescue her as well. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of everyone involved, the father and daughter were safely brought to shore.
Concerns have been raised regarding the lack of police presence near the waterfall, especially considering the number of people who visit the area. According to Mathew, people have resorted to carrying their vehicles to the top of the waterfall through off-roading since there are no proper arrangements made for reaching the site.
