The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended a father-son duo, Akhlakh (58) and Shahrukh (26), who were wanted for a quadruple murder case in the Haridwar district that occurred in May 2019. The accused had allegedly murdered four people in Kheri Khurd together with their cohorts and evaded law enforcement for two years. The senior superintendent of police, STF, Ayush Agrawal, stated that the accused had a bounty of Rs 50,000 each on their heads. The police had lodged a case against the culprits under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and had already arrested several others in connection with the same case.
On June 1, STF received information that the father-son duo had taken refuge in Deoband of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, following which the STF formed a team and arrested them. Yad Hussain (30), another absconding accused in this case, was arrested by STF in April this year, who was hiding in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Agrawal added that a total of 14 accused have been apprehended so far in this case and have been sent to prison after completing the necessary formalities.
