Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament, Farooq Abdullah, has urged people to come together to oppose divisive forces that are trying to disenfranchise them of their identity, land, and resources. During a function at Gasoo Batapora Hazratbal in Srinagar on Monday, Farooq emphasized the importance of unity to tackle common problems such as poverty and unemployment. He advocated for preserving J&K’s diversity, saying that unity in diversity must be India’s creed to last for all times and under all circumstances. The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister believes that attempts to destroy J&K’s culture, language, and traditions can be thwarted if people maintain brotherhood and unity. Farooq called on individuals to stop identifying themselves solely on the basis of religion and strive towards achieving unity in diversity, which is essential for the restoration of their abridged constitutional and democratic rights. Farooq assured that the National Conference would not permit communal parties’ apologetic proxies’ electoral and political gain at the cost of dividing people.
