Farmers in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh have called for a loan waiver of up to INR 2 lakh and interest, with a delegation from the Kisan Manch group meeting with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to discuss their demands. Singh Chouhan stated that a committee of Kisan Manch members should be formed to simplify the process of the revenue department’s works for farmers, including nomination, distribution, filing, and dismissal. The Chief Minister also committed to upgrading transformers with excess demand to solve problems with power supply, with INR 13k crore set aside to strengthen the power system. Kamal Singh Anjana, the state president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, stated that their demands would help 11 lakh farmers in the state, with the group also requesting the installation of transformers under Mukhyamantri Anudan Yojana.
