Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young are gearing up to host Farm Aid 2023, and they’ve just revealed some exciting details about the upcoming event. Joining them on stage will be an incredible lineup of performers, including Farm Aid board members Margo Price and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds. Also taking the stage will be the Grateful Dead’s Bobby Weir & the Wolf Bros., Lukas Nelson, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Allison Russell, The String Cheese Incident, Particle Kid, and more acts yet to be announced.

The much-anticipated Farm Aid 2023 will be held in Mellencamp’s hometown of Seymour, Indiana, and he couldn’t be more thrilled about the location. We are honored and excited to bring the Farm Aid experience back to Indiana, Mellencamp said. My home state holds deep meaning for me and for the generations of family farmers who have dedicated their lives to caring for the Earth and bringing us good food.

Mellencamp has been making waves recently with the release of his twenty-fifth studio album, Orpheus Descending, which dropped last month. This deeply personal record showcases Mellencamp’s signature sound and tackles social issues that he is passionate about. Tracks like Hey God and Eyes Of Portland highlight his unwavering commitment to advocating for change.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Mellencamp shed some light on the album’s title, drawing inspiration from Greek mythology. Don’t look back, he explained. There’s nothing back there worth keeping.

In addition to the release of Orpheus Descending, Mellencamp also treated fans to a deluxe edition reissue of his seminal album, Scarecrow. This special edition includes bonus tracks and rarities that have never been shared before. Mellencamp’s previous studio LP, Strictly A One-Eyed Jack, also received critical acclaim and garnered praise from major publications such as The New York Times, NPR Music, and Forbes.

As Farm Aid 2023 approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating the lineup of performers and the opportunity to support family farmers. This annual event serves as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by farmers across the nation. In keeping with journalistic integrity, it is important to present a balanced view of the topic, including different perspectives and opinions where relevant.

Farm Aid 2023 promises to be a memorable event, bringing together legendary musicians and dedicated advocates for a cause that impacts us all. With its focus on supporting family farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture, Farm Aid continues to make a lasting impact on communities across the country.
