The Jammies for Grammies gift campaign, started by Patricia MacNeil and her family, has expanded to include nine seniors’ homes across Nova Scotia. The campaign, which began in 2020 as a way to honor MacNeil’s daughter Alyssa, who passed away from cancer that year, provided personalized pajama gift packages to 754 seniors this Christmas, including those at Northwood. Alyssa had a love for both small children and seniors, making the campaign a fitting tribute to her memory. What started as a small endeavor at one seniors’ home has now grown into a much larger project, with plans to expand even further in the future. With the support of volunteers and partnerships with local organizations, Jammies for Grammies aims to bring comfort and joy to more seniors in Nova Scotia each year.
