While primarily designed for air-to-air combat, the F-22 can also engage in air-to-surface operations by replacing its main bay launchers with bomb racks.

The F-22’s stealth design significantly reduces its radar cross-section (RCS) and infrared signature through advanced airframe shaping, radar-absorbent materials, and other techniques.
