Three people were killed and nine injured in an explosion caused by stored firecrackers in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources confirmed. The incident occurred at the house of one Sabir in Gunnaur town of Sambhal district. Deceased included Sabir’s wife, daughter and a neighbour’s child while eight others were injured. Police have arrested the house owner, Sabir, and investigation is ongoing. A total of 11 people were found, with two confirmed dead and five taken to Aligarh for medical attention. The debris is now being removed before the surrounding area is secured.
