The intense explosion caused the fire to spread rapidly, engulfing nearby shops and houses. The local police and fire personnel promptly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations and contain the blaze.
Krishnagiri Superintendant of Police, Saroj Kumar Thakore, confirmed that seven individuals lost their lives in the incident, and several injured victims were rushed to a nearby government hospital for immediate medical attention. Sadly, Thakore later revealed that the death toll had risen to nine.

This unfortunate incident follows another recent explosion that occurred at a firecracker manufacturing factory in the Virudhunagar district’s Sivakasi City, resulting in the deaths of two individuals on Tuesday.
Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause behind these explosions and prevent similar tragic incidents from happening in the future. Safety and security measures at such factories are being closely reviewed to ensure compliance with regulations and to protect the lives of workers and neighboring communities.
These incidents highlight the inherent dangers associated with the manufacturing and storage of fireworks. It is crucial for authorities to enforce stringent safety protocols to safeguard the lives and well-being of all individuals involved in this industry.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims who lost their lives in these devastating accidents. May they find strength and solace during this difficult time, and may the injured individuals make a speedy recovery.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder to prioritize safety, raise awareness about potential hazards, and take necessary precautions in potentially dangerous environments. The authorities must continue to work towards ensuring comprehensive safety guidelines and stringent implementation to prevent any further loss of life in such incidents.
