iCreate, India’s leading innovation-based start-up incubator, has launched the third edition of EVangelise, India’s largest EV innovation challenge. The event was held on June 27th in Ahmedabad and was attended by industry leaders and government officials, including the Minister of State, Government of Gujarat, Jagdish Vishwakarma.
The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, emphasized the importance of electric mobility in shaping India’s future as a cleaner and greener nation, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He commended iCreate for their efforts in organizing EVangelise and encouraged participants to contribute to India’s prominence in the global electric vehicle industry.
Avinash Punekar, CEO of iCreate, expressed his excitement about EVangelise ’23 and the organization’s commitment to India’s transition towards sustainable mobility. He believes that the event will provide unparalleled opportunities for EV startups and innovators, building on the success of the previous editions.
The launch event featured keynote speeches by industry leaders who shared insights into the growth trajectory and challenges of the EV industry. Rajeev Chaba, President and MD of MG Motor India, highlighted the importance of technology and strategic partnerships in overcoming obstacles in India’s EV market. He also praised EVangelise as a significant opportunity to discover unique solutions tailored for India at a low cost.
The event included a panel discussion titled Steps to Make India a Global Leader in the EV Sector, where panelists discussed strategic actions to secure India’s leading position in the global electric vehicle industry. The panelists represented prominent companies in the EV sector, including Arun Pratap Singh, Co-founder and CEO of Matter, Amitabh Saran, Founder and CEO of Altigreen Propulsion Labs, and Dr. Yogesh Bhatia, MD and CEO of LML Electric.
Kartikey Hariyani, the Founder of TecSo Charge+Zone, shared his journey in the EV ecosystem and expressed his excitement about being part of EVangelise ’23. He emphasized the platform’s significant opportunities for growth and collaboration in the EV industry.
