Envoy America, a leading provider of on-demand companionship and transportation services for older adults and people with health impediments, is set to launch its all-electric, all-employee service on September 5, 2023. The service will initially be available in six cities across Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, with a fleet of 25 Teslas and 60 Companion Drivers.

The decision to transition to an all-electric fleet is a step towards a zero-carbon transportation future. Envoy America’s commitment to sustainability has garnered interest from numerous corporate clients, who have joined the waitlist to become clients of the service. Additionally, over 1,000 Companion Drivers have applied to work for Envoy America, attracted by the guaranteed wages and access to Fortune 100-level benefits.

Envoy America’s Companion Drivers are extensively vetted through background and driving checks, ensuring their safety and reliability. They are also trained to provide compassionate and helpful assistance to older adult riders, including helping them get in and out of the vehicle, shopping assistance, accompanying them to doctor’s appointments, and more.

The launch of the all-electric, all-employee service has been made possible through partnerships with Access2Care, a corporate launch partner, and Union Leasing, who have worked with Envoy America to get the fleet on the road. Access2Care Regional Director, George Sousa, commended Envoy America for their commitment to combating climate change and protecting workers’ rights.

Transportation and companionship are vital for older Americans to retain social connections, as highlighted by a recent report by the U.S. Surgeon General. The lack of social connections can be as detrimental to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Envoy America aims to address this issue by providing top-notch companionship and transportation services that improve the health and well-being of older adults.

Envoy America’s expansion into all-electric, all-employee service signifies their dedication to sustainability and social responsibility. By investing in a zero-carbon transportation future and prioritizing the well-being of their employees, Envoy America is setting an example for other businesses in the industry.
