Film and TV Fund Management Company IPR.VC Secures Nearly $109 Million in Funding Round, Appoints Entertainment Financier Andrea Scarso

Andrea Scarso, a well-established entertainment financier, has joined the fund management company IPR.VC as a partner and investment director. IPR.VC recently raised almost $109 million in its third funding round, bringing its total funds raised to €150 million. Scarso will lead the company in further investing in content production.

Established in 2015 and based in Finland, IPR.VC initially focused on investing in Nordic scripted projects. It has since expanded its reach to include strategic partnerships with U.S. and international companies such as A24, XYZ Films, and Gigglebug animation studio. Half of the funds raised by IPR.VC have already been allocated to 35 film and TV productions in Europe and the U.S., including the popular Netflix series Bordertown.

Andrea Scarso brings a wealth of experience in media and entertainment financing to IPR.VC. He has worked on over 200 deals for studio and independent projects, including acclaimed films like Judy, Selma, and The Descendants, as well as Oscar-nominated films such as 127 Hours, Carol, and Brooklyn. Scarso most recently served as a senior investment director at Ingenious Media.

Timo Argillander, co-founder and managing partner of IPR.VC, expressed confidence in Scarso’s addition to the team, stating, With our most ambitious fund to date, and one of the most experienced, respected, and connected entertainment financiers in the business in Andrea joining the team, we could not be better placed to further evolve our investment strategy.

Scarso acknowledged IPR.VC’s success in the industry, emphasizing its role in building strong relationships, injecting capital into the market, and fueling the creation of film and TV projects. He expressed his excitement about joining the company and contributing to its continued growth.

IPR.VC aims to be a supportive partner for creatives and a trusted conduit for investors in the production of premium film and television content. The company’s latest funding round and the addition of Andrea Scarso position it well to continue its investment strategy and forge more long-term partnerships in the industry.

As IPR.VC expands its footprint in the entertainment industry, its partnership with Scarso and the significant funding secured in its latest round will undoubtedly make waves in the film and TV production landscape.
