Islamabad Capital Police Beef Up Security for Christmas
Islamabad Capital Police (ICP) have taken significant steps to enhance security measures around Christian places of worship in preparation for Christmas. Over 1,500 officers from the ICP and Pakistan Rangers have been deployed to ensure a safe environment during the Christmas celebrations. The deployment comes as part of the efforts to reinforce security protocols and prevent any untoward incidents.
Under the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, a meeting was conducted by SSP Operations, Malik Jameel Zafar, in which officers were instructed to take all necessary measures to bolster the security of Christian places of worship in their respective areas. These measures include the establishment of search points without causing disruptions, conducting thorough searches, maintaining constant communication with event organizers, ensuring punctuality, and implementing reasonable car parking arrangements.
In line with the preparations, SSP Operations emphasized the deployment of over 1,500 officers to ensure foolproof security. To further strengthen the security measures, the Pakistan Rangers are collaborating with the police. The deployment of armed personnel, civil paratroopers, and women police personnel at every place of worship has been instructed by the respective District Police Officers and Officers-in-Charge of Police Stations.
Teams from the Intelligence and Detection Force will closely monitor individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior. Additional personnel will be deployed in public places, while bomb disposal units will conduct thorough searches in various areas. Duty patrols, as well as patrolling teams, will be appointed in different sectors and rural areas of Islamabad to enhance security.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized the paramount importance of safety and reiterated that the primary duty of the police is to safeguard the lives and property of the city’s residents.
