The 75th Republic Day parade in New Delhi showcased the empowerment of women in India, with various segments highlighting the achievements of women across different sectors. The event began with over 100 women musicians playing folk instruments, emphasizing the country’s rich cultural diversity. The parade also demonstrated gender-neutral inclusivity in the Indian armed forces, featuring an all-women Tri-Service contingent marching down Kartavya Path.
The Tri-Service contingent consisted of women soldiers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force’s Corps of Military Police. These women military police personnel have been deployed in Counter Insurgency Areas, Siachen glacier, High Altitude Areas, and Desert terrain, where they have displayed exceptional performance in various joint exercises and UN missions.
Leading the all women contingent from the Tri-Services was Captain Sandhya of the Military Police, accompanied by three supernumerary officers—Capt Shranya Rao, Sub Lt Anshu Yadav, and Flt Lt Shrishti Rao. Their presence symbolized the strength and spirit of Nari Shakti (women power).
The Indian Air Force’s fly-past featured 16 women pilots, captivating the audience with their awe-inspiring display of skill and precision. This impressive representation of Nari Shakti showcased the increasing role and contribution of women in the armed forces.
Adding to the grandeur of the parade, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) women band paraded down Kartavya Path, consisting of 84 talented musicians. Dressed in vibrant Lahariya turbans adorned with saffron hackles and carrying sparkling band instruments, they played the spirited tune of ‘Amar Senani’, exemplifying the CISF’s unwavering commitment to national security. The band was led by Constable Kashyap Monika Narendra.
Following the CISF women band was the marching contingent of Central Armed Police women personnel, consisting of 144 Other Rank members. They showcased their prowess and commitment to ‘Naari Shakti’ by performing daredevil stunts on motorcycles. A total of 265 women bikers participated, highlighting their bravery and valor.
This year’s Republic Day parade served as a testament to India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military capabilities and the growing influence and power of women across all sectors in the country. The event showcased the strength, determination, and immense contribution of women in various fields, reaffirming their critical role in shaping India’s future.
