Raducanu admitted, On certain occasions they haven’t been able to keep up with the questions I’ve asked, and maybe that’s why it ended. She explained that she likes to challenge her coaches’ thinking, provoking them with her inquiries and seeking to understand the reasoning behind their instructions. For her, it’s not enough to be told what to do; she needs to comprehend the why behind it before she can fully commit to it.
The rising tennis star has already gone through several coaching changes in her young career. Her initial coach was Nigel Sears, who parted ways with her after her remarkable run to the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2021. She then teamed up with Andrew Richardson and clinched her maiden Grand Slam title in New York just months later. However, Torben Beltz, Dimitri Tursunov, and Sebastian Sachs followed as subsequent coaches, each leaving their mark and contributing to Raducanu’s growth and development as a player.
Currently, Raducanu is coach-less, having recently split with Sachs in June. Nevertheless, she remains optimistic and focused on her tennis journey. The talented athlete has been out of action since April due to surgeries on both wrists and an ankle, but she intends to make a comeback for the upcoming season. Additionally, with the Paris Olympics on the horizon, Raducanu has expressed her desire to experience the Olympic Games and represent Team GB. Despite recognizing the enormity of the event, she remains realistic about her chances, stating, I’ll just see how it goes, if I even qualify and how it goes from there.
