The Education Department in Bihar’s Gaya district recently took action to terminate five teachers that had used forged documents during the recruitment process back in 2019-20. The five teachers identified are Pappu Mandal from Dashrath Nagar Primary School in Gahlor, Amar Kumar from Panditpur Sohri Mohra village, Amar Kumar from Rampur Panchayat Wazirganj, Bindu Paswan from Phulsar Panchayat, and Mukesh Kumar Yadav from the Ekamba Primary School in Fatehpur. Upon the District Education Officer’s recommendation, the department is initiating termination and sending a legal notice to the five teachers.
During the recruitment session of 2019-20, the Education Department hired numerous teachers on the grounds of their qualifications such as Matric, Intermediate, Graduation, and B-Ed or CTET/BTET marks. This was to make sure the recruitment was done through fair means. However, some applicants had found ways to falsify documents and marksheets, thus increasing their chances of recruitment. In order to curb such illegal activities, the department had issued a directive to the selected teachers to authenticate and verify their documents. As most of them did not, the five were caught and the reports were forwarded to the department for consideration.
The Education Department had issued the appointment letters in 2022 and now they have initiated the timely process for termination. This will not only maintain the integrity of the department but also ensure that the recruitment process remains ceaseless and fair.
