The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 12 different locations across Jharkhand on Tuesday, including the property of Poreyahat MLA Pradeep Yadav and his associates, along with various companies in Ranchi, Dumka and Godda districts. The ED seized approximately ₹60 lakhs in cash from one of the raided locations. Documents with evidence were also seized during the operation. According to sources, the income tax (I-T) department carried out searches at Yadav’s premises earlier this year and shared its findings with the ED, leading to this action. The raids were carried out to investigate potential cases of economic crimes.
Vaishnavi Construction and Suppliers Private Limited was among the companies raided by the ED during its operation. It is a private limited firm that is primarily involved in construction-related activities and is headquartered in Ranchi.
Pradeep Yadav, the MLA of Poreyahat, was among the people whose properties were raided by the ED in the aforementioned operation. Yadav, a former member of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha P Rajya Sabha, joined the Congress when the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha was disbanded in 2020.
