Eagle Pass 14 Year Old All-Stars from the Eagle Pass Youth Baseball and Softball Association are gearing up for the 2023 Babe Ruth Baseball World Series in Virginia. The team secured their spot in the championship by winning the United States Southwestern Regional Championship. This impressive victory came after defeating the host team, Camden, Arkansas 14 Year Old All-Stars.
Excitement surrounds the upcoming tournament, and the local community has shown immense support for the young athletes. The Eagle Pass City Council honored the team during a recent meeting, expressing their well wishes for the players as they embark on this incredible journey.
The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth Baseball 14 Year Old All-Stars consists of a talented roster including Arturo DJ Aranda, Brandon Alvar, Nathan Carreon, Nathan Ortiz, Alejandro Mallen, Jacob Martinez, Isaac Guerrero, Aiden Morales, Oro Rodriguez, Anten Stanwick, Henry Silva, and Abelardo Perez. Leading the team is Manager Lalo Ortiz, with Assistant Coaches Gilberto Villalobos and Ariel Morales providing their guidance and expertise.
The competition at the World Series will be fierce, with teams from Stafford/Fredricksburg, Virginia, Arlington, Virginia, Tallahassee/Leon, Florida, Franklin Township, New Jersey, Trumbull, Connecticut, Beckley, West Virginia, Broomall-Newton, Pennsylvania, Orcutt, California, Sedro Woolley, Washington, North Moorehead, Minnesota, Mexico, Australia, and Aruba. Eagle Pass will commence Pool Play on August 5th against Broomall-Newton, Pennsylvania, followed by games against Arlington, Virginia on August 6th, Aruba on August 7th, and Orcutt, California on August 9th.
After Pool Play, the teams will be seeded based on their performance, advancing to Bracket Play during August 10-12th. The top two teams will then face off in the World Series Championship on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. (EST).
