Preparations are underway for the e-counselling process for the successful candidates of this year’s West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), according to WBJEE Board Chairman Malayendu Saha. The exam, which is held for admission to engineering colleges in the state, saw approximately 1,01,000 students appear for it, out of which around 97,000 students obtained rankings.
The board has allocated a specific time interval between the ‘choice filling’ and ‘choice locking’ stages, allowing students to review a mock allotment of their seats. Saha mentioned that once the seat matrix is received from the Director of Technical Education of the Higher Education department, the counseling process can begin within five days. He added that this year’s counseling will consist of three rounds with new features.
During the first round, students will have the opportunity to modify their choices if they are dissatisfied with their allocated subject, as informed by Saha during a program organized by the Association of Professional Academic Institutions.
