Dubai is hosting the ‘Climate Future Week’ from September 26 to September 30, bringing together world leaders, innovators, and experts to shape climate action. The event, organized by The Museum of the Future in collaboration with the Fiker Institute, will feature over 30 prominent speakers from government, business, and sustainability sectors. With a focus on three main pillars, the event aims to discuss the future of climate action, the next generation of climate solutions, and the role of entrepreneurship in achieving climate resilience.

As part of the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, the Climate Future Week aligns with the ‘Year of Sustainability’ and precedes the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Conference of the Parties (COP28) scheduled to be held in Dubai in November.

The three-day event will consist of 20 main sessions, six workshops, and three activations, including a Climate Start-up Majlis, Climate Film Festival, and a photography exhibition. The sessions will cover a wide range of topics such as the role of technology in climate action, entrepreneurship in developing climate innovations, and the importance of climate awareness and human behavior.

On the first day of the event, Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, will deliver a speech on the roadmap for climate action. Following that, speakers like Laila Mostafa Abdullatif, Director General of Emirates Nature-WWF, and Najib Saab, Secretary General of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development, will discuss innovation in nature conservation and the environmental future of the Arab world, respectively. The day will also feature sessions on plastic pollution solutions, organic gardening, and sustainable tourism.

The second day will commence with discussions led by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Dr. Thani Alzeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, focusing on the connection between climate and artificial intelligence and the future of sustainable global trade in Dubai. Other sessions will address sustainable architecture, carbon dioxide conversion for a greener future, and climate-conscious designs.

The final day will feature a special session titled ‘Countdown to COP28’ with Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, COP28 President-Designate and UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, and Razan Al Mubarak, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP28 and International Union for Conservation of Nature President. This discussion will be moderated by Emirati Author and Founder of Fiker Institute Dubai, Abulhoul.

In addition to the sessions, Climate Future Week will include workshops, a Climate Start-up Majlis, a Climate Film Festival, and a photography exhibition. The event aims to foster dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in tackling climate change while highlighting the UAE’s commitment to environmental conservation and natural resource management.

With its comprehensive program, Climate Future Week in Dubai offers a platform for world leaders, innovators, and experts to drive meaningful climate action and shape the sustainable future we all aspire to achieve.
