Several members of Delhi University’s academic council have sent an email to Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh requesting an inquiry into the mismanagement and negligence at a Degree Fair hosted by the School of Open Learning (SOL). The event, aimed at distributing degrees to university graduates, was cancelled at the weekend, sparking a chaotic scene as students were arbitrarily prevented from entering the venue. The email called for appropriate action to be taken against SOL officials responsible for the mismanagement. The academic council also demanded the advisory issued by SOL after the incident be withdrawn and that the degrees be delivered to students promptly.
