A drunk groom, identified as Jaturong Suksuk, went on a shooting rampage at his wedding reception in the Nakhon Ratchasima province of Thailand on Saturday night. The incident left his new bride, Kanchana Pachanthuek, as well as her mother and sister, dead. The groom then turned the gun on himself. Two other guests were injured by stray bullets during the chaotic scene. Police believe the shooting was triggered by the groom’s insecurities and mistrust of his bride, fueled by his own physical disability. Jaturong had lost his right leg in an accident several years ago. The tragic incident has shocked the community as Jaturong was also an accomplished athlete, having won a silver medal in swimming at the Asean Para Games in Indonesia last year. Investigation into the motive and circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
