Drug Arrests in Van Wert County – Two Detained in Major Bust
Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach has announced the arrests of two individuals in a significant drug bust over the weekend. The suspects, Rickie Welker and Brandi Runyon, were apprehended on drug-related charges during a traffic stop in Liberty Township.
Welker, a 41-year-old resident of Van Wert, was arrested on two counts of drug possession. He faces charges of possessing fentanyl and methamphetamine, both of which are classified as third-degree felonies. Runyon, a 32-year-old also from Van Wert, was taken into custody for possessing drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor.
The arrests were made by deputies during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12. Welker and Runyon were passengers in the vehicle that was stopped.
