The event is open to the public. Dr. Houseal played a crucial role in transitioning Valdosta’s city leaders’ voting system and served as a representative for District 1 on the Valdosta City Council. He has also been actively involved in preserving the history of Southside Valdosta and Pinevale High School. The presentation is part of VSU’s commemoration of Black History Month, reflecting the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
