The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Vice Chairman and former MLA Inderwal GM Saroori recently criticized the administration for neglecting the ST community. He traveled to remote areas in Kishtwar to hold meetings with the locals and apprise them of the party’s agenda. He urged them to suggest ways to strengthen the party cadre in the district.
Saroori expressed concern that successive regimes had left these areas unattended, causing immense suffering to the people. He stressed the need to listen to them and resolve their issues on a priority basis. He emphasized that the party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad had instructed all party leaders to reach out to the people at their doorstep and address their grievances.
Furthermore, Saroori slammed the UT administration for not doing enough to protect the rights of the ST community. He accused the BJP government at the center and UT of lacking commitment and merely paying lip service to the welfare of the ST community.
Overall, it is crucial to pay heed to the voices of marginalized communities and ensure that their grievances are addressed. The DPAP’s efforts in this regard are commendable and serve as an example for other parties to follow. It is imperative to provide equitable opportunities to all communities and ensure their welfare to build a more inclusive society.
