Doctors on High Alert for Malaria at Flood Relief Camps in Noida

Amidst the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Noida, the health department has taken proactive measures to ensure the well-being of the affected population. The department has deployed ten teams of doctors and pharmacists to provide round-the-clock medical assistance at relief camps in Dadri, Dankaur, Jewar, and Bisrakh. These teams are equipped with essential medicines, including flu medications, anti-venom shots, and drugs for waterborne diseases.

Given the prevailing weather conditions and the monsoon season, officials are especially watchful for cases of malaria and dengue, which are known to spread during this time of the year. Dr. Amit Kumar, the surveillance officer in Noida, stated that the teams are fully operational at the camps, armed with antibiotics, necessary medicines, and ambulances for immediate referral to nearby healthcare facilities if required.

District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma recently inspected the evacuation operations in Jewar and visited a rescue camp in Falaida Bangar village. As of now, nearly 400 individuals from Jewar have been successfully evacuated and relocated to safe areas, where the supply office is ensuring they receive food and other essentials.

The flood situation has affected a total of 67 villages, with 53 of them flooded by the Yamuna River and 14 by the Hindon River. The administration has successfully rehabilitated 4,748 people and 6,308 animals so far. Additionally, they have set up 17 flood outposts and 14 rescue camps to assist residents in need. The joint efforts of the NDRF, SDRF, PAC, and Noida police are ongoing to ensure the safe evacuation of people. To facilitate communication and coordination, a control room with helpline numbers has been established.

In these challenging times, the health and safety of the affected population remain a top priority. The medical teams working tirelessly at the relief camps are playing a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services. With their continuous monitoring and prompt medical assistance, the risks of disease outbreaks, particularly malaria and dengue, are being effectively managed.

The officials and authorities are employing a comprehensive approach to ensure the well-being of those affected by the floods. While the focus is on rescue and evacuation, efforts are also being made to address the health concerns of the affected individuals and prevent the onset and spread of diseases. The provision of essential medicines and the constant vigilance of the medical teams are vital components of this holistic approach.

In conclusion, as the relief and rescue operations continue in flood-affected areas of Noida, the health department has taken proactive measures to protect the affected population from potential disease outbreaks. With medical teams working diligently at the relief camps and necessary medications readily available, the risks of malaria and other waterborne diseases are being effectively managed. The administration, along with various relief agencies, is committed to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the floods and ensuring their health and safety.
