A doctor died after eating at a restaurant at Disney World that allegedly guaranteed its food was allergen-free.
Dr Kanokporn Tangsuan was having dinner at Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs with her husband when the tragic incident occurred. Despite informing the waiter of her severe allergies to nuts and dairy, Tangsuan suffered an acute allergic reaction after dining at the establishment. Despite seeking assurance that her meal was allergen-free, the doctor tragically passed away due to anaphylaxis.
Tangsuan’s husband has since filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Inc, claiming negligence in failing to ensure the safety of individuals with severe allergies. Seeking damages under the Florida Wrongful Death Act, the lawsuit aims to raise awareness and prevent similar incidents in the future.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of proper food handling and allergen management in restaurants, particularly for those with severe allergies. As the investigation continues, the family of Dr. Tangsuan hopes that this tragedy will lead to improved safety measures for individuals with allergies dining out.
