The Delhi Distribution Companies (DISCOMS) have requested the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) to reconcile their actual and estimated accounts until the year 2021-22 and to determine the Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) and Tariff for 2023-24. The DISCOMS have reported a revenue gap of Rs 2,906 crore from their true-up petitions and a standalone revenue gap of Rs 7,817 crore from their ARR petitions. Despite the DERC’s recognition of regulatory assets of over Rs 9,000 crore, they have not been given to the DISCOMS. The DISCOMS have requested a cost-reflective tariff to maintain quality power supply in Delhi. However, concerns have risen regarding the DERC’s swift tariff determination process, especially since they have been operating with a single member since January 9, 2023, and the absence of a Member Finance since June 2020.
Discoms request DERC for truing-up until 2021-22
