Global commerce distributor DigiKey has partnered with crowd-purchasing platform GroupGets to launch the Get MADE crowdfunding initiative that will allow startups to get their hardware funded, produced and sold on DigiKey’s website. Through this collaboration, qualifying devices will be cross-promoted by the two firms through content, design, distribution and partial funding. After successful funding, GroupGets will work with creators to manufacture platforms, which DigiKey will then list for sale on its website. GroupGets co-founder, Adam Benzion, said in a statement that the partnership allowed his company to further support makers attempting to enter the market.
