In a recent visit, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh and Financial Commissioner Home (ACS) RK Goyal, along with ADGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, assessed the arrangements for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra at the Panjtarni transit camp. The officers also inspected the security measures put in place at Baltal and Neegrath. They enquired about the facilities provided to the yatris, such as tents and langars.
The visiting officers were briefed on the disaster management and rescue measures implemented for the smooth and hassle-free yatra. They expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, particularly in relation to medical, cleanliness, and security needs of the yatris. The DGP emphasized the importance of adhering to SOPs and urged officers to avoid congestion at the camp to prevent any inconvenience to the yatris. He also stressed the need for maintaining the safety and security of the yatris.
The officers commended the efforts of the MRTs of Police and other forces who have provided assistance and rescued yatris at various challenging locations. They also appreciated the camp commanders and officers from various police and civil wings for their measures and arrangements throughout the yatra.
At the langar site, the officers interacted with the yatris themselves to determine their level of satisfaction with the facilities provided. They expressed contentment with the entire setup.
The meeting was attended by Camp Director Sher Singh, Commandant ITBP Parminder Singh, 7 Para Major Mohit, Incharge Transit Camp Panjtarni SP Munish Kumar, and other officers.
Later, the DGP and FC Home visited Neelgrath and Baltal to review the services and facilities available at the helipad in the camp.
