A couple from Devon has left visitors in awe with their impressive flyboarding performance set to the iconic tune Barbie Girl. James Prestwood, 39, who has been flyboarding as a hobby for seven years, decided to take his partner Kasia, 33, on a thrilling ride in the air. The video of their performance, which has since gone viral, showcases the couple effortlessly performing backflips above the water at Elberry Cove.
According to James, this video is their best production of the year and has garnered stunned reactions from viewers. Kasia even had children approaching her for photos and questioning whether she was the real Barbie. The effort put into the show is evident in the remarkable photos, and James credits his father Kim for assisting them during their performances and managing their shared business.
The couple purchased their costumes in June and carefully planned different scenes for their performance at Paignton’s Elberry Cove. The video stands out not only for its visual appeal but also for its perfect synchronization with the Barbie Girl song. James explains that flyboarding requires skill and precision, and even the smallest mishap only results in landing in the water. Having someone else on the board adds an extra level of difficulty, as both individuals must ensure they do not slip off.
Creating the Barbie Girl video took an entire day, including the setup, washing down the equipment, and packing it all away. Despite the challenges, James and Kasia were determined to deliver a flawless performance. Flyboarding is James’s passion, although he admits it can be expensive to maintain. While he does not earn much from it, he runs a full-time business fitting LED lights for football pitches. The costs associated with flyboarding are substantial, but James is willing to work hard to cover them because of his love for the activity.
