‘Moving Object Detection and Control Using Remote Sensing and Artificial Intelligence II’
Moving objects constitute a significant part of all technical objects, and the method of controlling their movement significantly affects operating costs, accuracy, and safety of transport tasks. To address this, remote sensing devices such as radar and lidar, along with specialized measurement solutions, are used in the detection and control of moving objects. The selection of the best or optimal solution for motion control involves static and dynamic optimization deterministic methods, heuristic methods of particle swarms, and effective artificial intelligence techniques like evolutionary algorithms and neuro-fuzzy regulators.
This special issue aims to explore innovative approaches that utilize remote sensing and control to develop algorithms for computer-aided maneuvering decisions. The focus is on calculating all possible solutions of the task and proposing one of the best ones. The topics of interest include the use of AI approaches such as machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, fuzzy logic, multiagent systems, and expert systems for the detection, path planning, and motion control of various moving objects like autonomous vehicles, self-driving cars, aircraft, and ships.
Interference is a common challenge for moving objects, but it can be compensated for using adaptive algorithms such as self-tuning, model reference systems, or gain scheduling.
An important aspect of safe object passing during transport tasks is the subjective assessment of the navigational situation by the operator. Taking into account legal rules and the possibility of human error leading to collision situations, game theory can be employed to treat the process of passing objects safely as a game. This involves considering the cooperation or non-cooperation between objects and analyzing conflict situations using mathematical models.
