Although the U.S. Department of State reissued a Level 2 Travel Advisory for The Bahamas on January 26, 2024, cautioning travelers to exercise care due to a wave of crime in non-tourist areas of New Providence, the Deputy Prime Minister assured that the advisory is not new and many popular destinations share the Level 2 classification.
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Philip Davis, released an official statement affirming that The Bahamas remains a safe destination for tourists.
