New Delhi, India: On Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that Delhi had recorded a maximum temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius, which is one level higher than the season’s average. It was a mostly cloudy day for Delhiites, with a relative humidity of 69% recorded at 5:30 p.m.
Despite being in the moderate range, Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) reading of 134 was still a cause for concern. Data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) revealed that AQI levels between 101 and 200 are classified as moderate.
The IMD has forecast rain in the coming days, with light-to-moderate rainfall expected from June 25 to 27. For the city, the IMD has announced a yellow alert (‘be aware’) during this period.
