The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) announced Delhi University’s (DU) 11th rank among universities, a two-spot improvement from last year. The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled the NIRF’s eighth edition rankings, marking DU’s overall improvement to the 22nd position from last year’s 23rd.
DU has been ranked below Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia in the university category. In the college category, DU has secured five spots among the top ten colleges, with Miranda House retaining the top spot for the seventh year. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, ranking sixth, secured a spot above Lady Shri Ram College and Shri Ram College of Commerce.
Kirori Mal College and Lady Shri Ram College for Women also secured positions in the top ten colleges, achieving the fifth and eighth rankings respectively. DU has maintained a stable ranking for four years, securing the 22nd spot in overall ranking.
The NIRF rankings include categories like universities, colleges, research institutions, and overall rankings. The NIRF publicized the top 10 engineering colleges in India, with IIT Madras securing first position for the eighth consecutive year, and IIT Delhi standing in second place.
DU has improved its position in the overall rankings and five colleges among the top 10. Miranda House is ranked first among all colleges in India for the seventh time. DU’s 11th ranking among universities signifies its quality of education and reputation for academic excellence.
