Delhi is set to host a day-long shopping festival on September 9, offering a delightful combination of fashion, food, and folk culture. The festival, known as the Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival, will see the participation of numerous traders and shopkeepers from the renowned Chandni Chowk area. Organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), in collaboration with the traders of the old marketing precinct, this event aims to showcase the diverse and vibrant culture of Chandni Chowk to a wider audience.
The Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival promises to be an exciting blend of 3Fs: fashion, food, and folk culture. The event will feature food stalls, games zones, as well as performances of songs and dances. Notably, there will be no entry fee for participants, and the festival aims to attract audiences from various backgrounds, including Bollywood celebrities, politicians, media organizations, social media influencers, and bloggers.
The CTI has partnered with the Delhi Unstitch Salwar Suit Association (DUSSA) and has planned a series of luxurious lifestyle exhibitions as part of the festival. This edition, called Saubhagyawati Edition, will provide a platform for traders to present their products and enable visitors to explore the fashion, food, and culture of the famous Chandni Chowk market.
Brijesh Goyal, Chairman of the CTI, expressed that the festival’s main objective is to promote the rich heritage and culture of Chandni Chowk and highlight the oldest market in the national capital. The festival’s theme encompasses both business-to-consumer and business-to-business aspects, offering traders an opportunity to exhibit their products while allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the fashion, food, and cultural experiences of Chandni Chowk market.
The Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival will be organized in collaboration with various associations, including the Lehnga Association, Jewellers Association, Mercantile Association, and others. The event will take place at a resort in South Delhi, providing a picturesque backdrop for the festivities.
Rajnish Kashyap, an associate of DUSSA, expressed gratitude to the CTI for providing an opportunity to showcase their fashion to a wider audience. The festival will showcase various fashion designs for upcoming festive seasons and weddings while giving exposure to the traditional fabric designs of Chandni Chowk.
Subhash Khandelwal, President of CTI, stated that the festival aims to highlight the development of Chandni Chowk and foster connections among people from all corners of Delhi. It also serves as an opportunity for the younger generation to appreciate the traditional fabric designs of old Chandni Chowk.
