New Delhi, Dec 10 – The Indian capital, Delhi, experienced a dip in minimum temperature with a recorded value of 8.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday, one notch below the seasonal average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Yesterday, the minimum temperature stood at 8.5 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was marked at 314 at 9 am in the ‘very poor’ category. This is a slight improvement compared to Saturday’s AQI reading of 322 at 6 pm. The relative humidity at 8:30 am was 88 percent, according to the IMD.
The weather forecast for Sunday predicts mainly clear skies, followed by ‘shallow’ to ‘moderate’ conditions from Monday onwards.
November has witnessed 10 severe air quality days in the national capital. AQI levels between zero and 50 are considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 450 ‘severe’, with values above 450 categorized as ‘severe-plus’.
The current weather conditions in Delhi, along with the prevailing air quality concerns, highlight the ongoing challenges faced by residents in the city.
