Delhi Police summons Emaar MD for questioning in forgery case related to housing project

Dubai-based Emaar Properties’ founder and managing director, Mohamed Ali Alabbar, has been summoned by Delhi Police’s Economic Offence Wing for questioning regarding a case of alleged forgery and criminal breach of trust related to a housing project in Gurugram. Alabbar has been asked to appear at the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing office on 2 June. Alabbar, one of the directors of the real estate firm’s India subsidiary Emaar India Ltd, along with three other senior officer bearers in the country have been named in the case. The issue pertains to a civil case involving some homebuyers who had availed loans for properties worth Rs 1 crore.
