The Delhi High Court has denied a request to stay the investigation against Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, in relation to allegations of fraud worth Rs 81 crore. The couple, who are prominent figures in the business world, are accused of involvement in fraudulent activity by BharatPe, which led to the FIR registered by the Delhi Police. The High Court has issued notice to the Delhi Police and BharatPe on a plea by Grovers seeking to quash the FIR. The FIR was registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, and the High Court’s decision indicates that legal proceedings against the Grovers will continue. The police launched an initial enquiry into the allegations and found sufficient grounds to register the FIR. BharatPe welcomed the decision and said that the FIR would now enable law enforcement agencies to investigate deeper into the alleged criminality and bring the culprits to justice.
