The Delhi Government is urging all private schools to comply with safety regulations and update their certificates. The Education Department has directed managers or heads of private unaided recognised schools to keep their certificates, including a Fire No Objection Certificate, Water test certificate, school health certificate, school building certificate, and structural safety certificate, updated and submit renewals or updates to the Zonal Authorities of DoE. Failure to adhere to safety norms may impact a school’s affiliation status, according to government officials. The move follows the Mukherjee Nagar building fire on June 15, which affected 200-250 students from different coaching centres, with 61 students being hospitalised.
